Spartacus: Gods of the Arena Season 1 Episode 1 – Past Transgressions
Varro’s dead body lies on a table and is splattered with dried blood and his fatal wound a reminder of the tragic decision that Spartacus is haunted with. He speaks with Doctore about his bitterness and regret and how he wishes time would reverse and he was the one to be killed.
Duro exclaims he would never kill his own brother at any cost and this turns Spartacus into a wild man full of uncontrollable rage. The gladiators including Crixus can see Spartacus focus deteriorating which offers opportunities to those who would like to see a strong man weakened. Spartacus is met up with Mira since she would like to raise his dire spirits but he is relentless in his overwhelming guilt.
